I am available for work across the whole Netherlands as well as remotely worldwide. Throughout my photography career I've been working with established brands as well as start-ups across Europe > the US.
I left my career in digital marketing > project management behind to chase the food photography dreams. Having a solid marketing knowledge and understanding of what speaks to the customers, adds great value when I work on a photography project.
I’ve been exploring the world through a lens for more than 20 years. It all started during my travels. Before I knew it, I became ‘THE GO-TO’ photographer documenting special occasions for family and friends and corporate events alongside my work as digital marketing professional.
Born in Poland, I moved to the Netherlands to complete my studies in Media and Communications. Migrating from Central-Eastern to Western Europe, once the heart of the Dutch trading companies which brought exotic spices to the world, I am continuously oscillating across latitudes, between East and West.
Though I first started capturing people on camera, over time I became fascinated with architecture and the way spaces shape our daily lives, how light and structure can move us deeply despite being stationary. An ever deeper love story unfolded with food, despite being ephemeral, photography enabled me to memorialise that magic of gathering around a “gezellig” table and sharing cherished moments and meals with others.
During my numerous travels, exploring and photographing the foods and cooking with locals e.g. in Sri Lanka or Bali allowed me to developed my uniquely intuitive style. Just as my name Maja means “a lens to help see further”, I help visualise your “secret spice” to make clients and customers keep coming back for more, to distill and distinguish your brand's essence.
In this podcast for My Food Lens, I explain how I approach storytelling, I walk you through my creative process and show how to create powerful storytelling and add emotion to a simplest photography scene. Additionally, I explain how to incorporate storytelling with client branding and share simple techniques that require no special props or gear.
An interview I gave for Mylucie.com, providing insights about my creative process and how I work.
